Young Wild & Spoonie - Comfort is important
DISCLAIMER: THE PICTURES IN THE BACKGROUND ARE NOT MINE
I know these aren't in consecutive numbers, I thought I'd add the ones about getting as comfortable as possible during a flare first.
If you told me before to find the positive in chronic illness I’d laugh at you and think you were on some type of shroom. Now if you tell me I might be able to answer, I’m still on my journey and trying to find more things but I’m farther now & I can see some of the things I enjoy as a Spoonie. I’ve read Just Spoonie Things, & I have to say I love it and totally relate to it, there are so many things I can say YES that’s me.
To say chronic illness can be hellish is an understatement, but I was hoping Just Spoonie Things would put a couple cute and positive outcomes of it like they do for pretty much any Just__things. You know, the cute background and that little statement overlaying that puts warmth in your heart. I felt like it was missing that so I decided to do my own “Young, Wild, & Spoonie” A large number of Teens, Children and Young Adults can feel overwhelmingly isolated
#1 – because socializing becomes a challenge
#2- Because everyone around them has health
#3- If they are what I like to call Moderately-Severely Disabled they won’t be able to work, or go to
college like the rest of their healthy friends. They might even be bedbound or housebound.
All of that against you as a Teen, Youngin’ or 20-something + Life in general + Chronic illness = a knife through your heart. I mean it's a unique feeling when your body is totally failing you in the time of your life that your "supposed" to be becoming more independent but your becoming more dependent & you can't do much about it, not to mention all the different pressures to live like an Able-Bodied Teen/20-Something ect. So I felt it’d be nice to try and circulate some positive content.
Hope you like it!
