Because of the stigma of being visibly disabled a lot of people tend to be very hesitant, afraid, or even avoidant of using mobility devices or may feel disfigured if they require amputation. I want to tell you that it doesn’t take away from who you are or your beauty. You are still an amazing and worthy person. There can be some negative people who don’t want to associate with you but you just have to remember, people who are like that are insecure and ignorant. THEY are the problem if they are THAT closed minded, to not understand that you are more than a diagnosis. & There are many many more people than you think that don’t care that you use “x” device and will genuinely be your friend or lover. So don’t put up with anyone’s bullsh*t your just as good as anyone else, and you deserve good things you are not “broken” or “damaged goods” your just disabled! Remember that disability can be a big part of your life, but it is not a big part of your personality; It limits what you can do not who you are. Don’t be afraid and FLAUNT. Do you have any idea how many people claw away at trying to be different and stand out of the crowd? You’re already there! “Normal “is boring hun. & nothing is more awesome than someone being confident and flaunting something they are told to be ashamed of, it makes them more beautiful.
